Most people assume that I have always been thin. They do not realize the hard work it took for me to transform my life and my body. It’s assumed I don’t know what it’s like to walk into a gym and feel overwhelmed, out of place and intimidated. They think that I have never looked in the mirror and felt completely helpless. I have and this is why I opened BarBelles. Prior to this I worked in luxury cosmetics and loved helping women feel beautiful.
After releasing 80 pounds and transforming my own body with weight training, I knew I had found my passion in fitness. This was when I decided to become an Ace Certified Personal Trainer. I decided that I wanted to help all women feel beautiful but also improve their health as well. Now 7 years later I now am also a Fitness Nutrition Specialist and a Senior Fitness Specialist. My goal is to improve the quality of life for all my clients by helping them feel stronger, healthier and more confident. I take each client’s fitness goals, medical conditions, abilities, and preferences into account, and I design a customized program for them that is easy to follow. Ensuring that they stay motivated and get the results they are hoping for.
Fitness and nutrition saved my life. That is why I became a Personal Trainer and ultimately decided to open my own location. We are here to help you achieve your health and fitness goals, contact us today to begin your transformation!
Meet the Barbelles Team
I am Laurie LaRocque and I am a NASM certified personal trainer. I graduated from Kansas State University, where I started my career as an Athletic Trainer for the Football team. ( Go Cats)!
When I began College, I gained a great deal of weight, in a short amount of time. That experience changed the direction of my life, and what I wanted to do. I was blessed to come in contact with trainers at the College Recreation Center who were amazing in helping me not only physically lose the weight but also mentally, and emotionally transform my lifestyle.
If I am not in the gym working hard, you can find me out running, or loving up on my 4 furry kids.
I look at the body as a whole, so whatever your goals are, and there are none too big or small, I am here to help you.
I always desired to be strong over being thin. Therefore fitness became a form of therapy for me. It was somewhere I could de-stress and unplug from my day. So once I decided to enter back into the workforce after raising babies, the ACE personal training program was the direction I took. Now I get to help other women reach their health & fitness goals.
